Hello friends. I am so pleased to share with you a profile and interview of me that is currently featured in VoyageLA Magazine. It’s always gratifying to be recognized. And I truly appreciate the support. Please check it out and let me know what you think. And share with friends if you so desire. Images of paintings and links are at the bottom of the article.
Painting Catalogue in the Works: Stay Tuned
It’s the tail end of summer and I am very happy to share some wonderful new with you. My first full color catalogue with essay by Elizabeta Betinski of bardola is currently in production. This is a self-published venture. Please keep an eye out for a Launch Event & Exhibit to be announced this Fall when it becomes available for purchase. More info and details to come – including ways to purchase online.
Above is a detail of a newly finished painting. No title yet. The painting includes two patterns from Morocco with the blue pattern directly taken from the Jewish Synagogue Lazama in Marrakech. The black & white pattern I painted as I dreamed & conjured my way to Spain & Morocco. The blue one I painted once I came back. So this painting spans the before and after of my trip (See my blog about my trip here).
I will only show the whole painting once I am ready to exhibit it. It is so satisfying to see it come together after such a long time of coaxing it into being. I never know when and how it will mysteriously unfold, but I am thrilled with its optical shimmer.
Lastly I want to share that this year I am being published for the first time in 3 literary & art magazines. My collage-prints are in the current Spring/Summer 29.1 Issue of December Magazine and two online magazines – VoyageLA and Issue Zero of TheLosAngelesPress. I feel blessed to be in such good company of artists, poets, and writers. Above are the two images featured in December Magazine.
